Solid Copper Earth Rods

Copper Strips, Plates and Solid Rods are manufactured from highly conductive EC Grade Copper. They offer great resistance to corrosion. They are ideally used in applications where the salt content in the soil is very high.
Size : 16mm - 2Omm (length as per customer specifications).

They can be driven by power hammers to a great depth. The threads of these rods are produced by Roll Threading Process which insures greater strength and more durability than cut thread.

Carbon in bore - The internal surface of our copper capillary fittings for soldering does not contain any detrimental film nor present a carbon level high enough to allow the formation of such a film during installation. The maximum total carbon level on internal surfaces do not exceed 1.0 mg/dm in accordance with specifications.

Resistance to dezincification- Our Components , which are manufactured from alloys containing more than 10% zinc(including brass) and which are required to be resistant dezincification, shall be capable of meeting the acceptance criteria for resistance to dezincification.

Resistance to stress corrosion- The fittings are resistant to stress corrosion. Components manufactured from alloys will show no evidence of cracking.

Instructions for Installation of copper fittings
  • Step 1. Ensure that the copper tube and fitting sizes are compatible. Cut the tube end square but ensure. That the tube retains its shape. The tube will then make even contact with the tube stop in the body of the fitting. The use of a tube cutter is recommended where practicable.
  • Step 2. Remove any burrs from the tube, both inside and outside.
  • Step 3. Clean the socket of the fitting with a brush and the exterior of the tube with fine steel wool, fine glass paper or a cleaning pad.
  • Step 4. Re-wound the tube with a re-wounding tool, if necessary, using fully annealed tube.
  • Step 5.Apply a flux to both the socket and the outside of the tube. If it is necessary to make the joint at one end only, insert a short length of uncleaned tube into the ends to be left unjoined and keep it cool with a wet rag while remaining joints are made.
  • Step 6. Insert the tube fully into the fitting. (In the case of slip fittings, ensure that the tube enters the socket to the appropriate distance) rotate the tube or fitting and remove excess flux where possible
  • Step 7. Apply heat with a low temperature torch, evenly heating both tube and socket until a complete ring of solder appears at the mouth of the fitting. Do not apply excessive heat or additional solder.
  • Step 8. Allow the joint to cool, ensuring that no movements occurs.
  • Step 9. Wipe the joint with a damp cloth to remove flux residues and thoroughly clean joint.
  • Step 10. Flush all residues out of the system, as soon as possible.
